Renese King

Renese King's array of musical talents have taken her from spiritual and gospel singing at the church podium to timpani playing on the Carnegie Hall stage.

Recognized regionally as a talented instrumentalist, choral director and arranger, she has appeared throughout the East Coast and toured internationally as a percussionist, pianist, and vocalist with a number of Massachusetts based choral and orchestral ensembles. However, it is her soulful and unforgettably moving voice that has piqued growing national attention.

She has made featured solo appearances in several holiday, gospel and patriotic concerts, two national television broadcasts, a compact disc release, and a 17-city national tour with the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, Keith Lockhart, conductor (appearing alongside such noted personalities as Peter Jennings, Patti Austin, Amy Grant, Vince Gill and Cyndi Lauper). Her orchestral arrangements have been performed by the Boston Pops, Thayer Symphony, Cape Anne Symphony and the Melrose Symphony Orchestras.

Ms. King is Associate Director of Music and Director of the Re-Union Choir at the historic Union United Methodist Church in Boston's South End, Minister of Music and Choral Director for the Roxbury Seventh Day Adventist Church. In addition to a position in Student Development at Berklee College of Music, she frequently appears as a guest conductor and musician with the Boston Community Choir, and other Boston area groups.

Ms. King is a recipient of New England Conservatory's seventh annual Gospel Music Award, a Massachusetts State Senate Official Citation for musical contributions to the community, and a member of the International Music Competitions Artistic Advisory Council.
